Services

Learning Center services promote student success by encouraging the development of important academic skills through tutoring and preparation.

Academic Tutoring

Tutoring is available in, but not limited to, the following subject areas:

  • Math
  • Chemistry
  • Accounting
  • English
  • Spanish
  • Physics
  • Biology
  • Economics
  • Communication
  • Health
  • Writing

One-on-one tutoring is available by appointment or on a walk-in basis for math, chemistry and writing, during designated hours. Group tutoring is also available.

Study Skills Tutoring

Note and test-taking skills are essential to student success. The Learning Center provides tutoring to help students learn these and other skills, including problem-solving, time management and textbook reading.

Computer-Based Learning

The Learning Center provides supplemental course software on computers in each of the three campus computer labs. Educational software is available for, but not limited to, math, biology, nutrition, medical terminology, spanish, psychology, reading, writing skills, nursing, ESL, english, chemistry, spelling, radiology, biology, respiratory care, ultrasound and facilities management content areas.

Learning Aids

The Learning Center offers a variety of learning resources, such as books and videos, to supplement classroom learning. Hands-on resources such as anatomical models, microscopes and slides, dictionaries and study guides are also available for student use.
