How to Get a Refund
Maricopa Student Refund Program (MSRP) New!
The Maricopa Community Colleges are pleased to introduce new options for
you to receive your financial aid and/or student refunds. Beginning in
summer 2010, we are piloting the Maricopa Student Refund Program (MSRP).
MSRP will give you a choice in how you receive payments from Maricopa.
You can request a direct deposit of funds into your existing bank account or
you can choose a personalized, Visa® prepaid debit card. No matter which
option you choose, you will have quick, convenient, safe, and fee-free ways
to access your funds.
MSRP provides significant benefits over paper checks. You no longer need
to wait for a check to arrive in the mail or stand in line at the bank or
check-cashing service to obtain your funds. In addition, the Visa
prepaid debit card does not require a bank account, and it is protected by
Visa’s Zero Liability* fraud protection in the event your card is ever lost
or stolen.
Even though you may request a paper check from Citibank for your refund,
we are encouraging all students to take advantage of the many benefits of
selecting direct deposit or the Visa prepaid debit card. Watch for
additional information on this new service through your e-mail account

Cash
Refunds of cash payments are made and issued only in check form. No
refunds of cash are available.
Checks
Refunds of check payments will be made only after 21 days from posting
the applicable payment. Earlier processing is possible upon issuing
documentation of proof that the check has cleared, including:
- The canceled check
- A bank statement
Do not bypass the refund process by placing a stop payment on a check.
Doing so could result in additional fees being assessed and delays in future
services. Students eligible for refunds must contact the Cashier's Office
and request the refund.
Credit Cards
Refunds of credit card payments are made only to the credit card on which
the original payment was processed. A student who is eligible for a refund
must contact the Cashier's Office and request the refund.
Dropped Classes
All students who have officially dropped or withdrawn from classes within
the scheduled deadline will be eligible for a refund or tuition credit based
on the refund schedule. Refunds must be requested by the students within the
current semester. Refunds sent by mail will be sent to the address of record
on file with the college.
