Overview
Courses in Art & Humanities involve a variety of subject matter including
art, art history, theatre, film, the human condition and more.
Many subject areas draw upon arts and humanities in understanding basic
developments and progression through time, including history, religion,
communications and languages.
Art Courses
We offer several art courses, including ART111 - Drawing I. This course
examines the fundamental principles of drawing and can serve as a
prerequisite course for additional courses such as:
- Drawing II
- Art Independent Study
Students are given several opportunities to showcase their work.
Art History Courses
Students can study various subjects in Art History, including ARH101
- Pre-History to the Renaissance. This course focuses on paintings, drawings, sculptures, architecture and
artistic expressions, and require no prerequisites. Other areas of study
include:
- Renaissance to Contemporary
- Post WWII to Contemporary
- Art History 102 offered in Prague, Summer Session II
Humanities Courses
We offer a mix of several Arts & Humanities courses, including HUM250
- Ideas and Values in the Humanities. This course presents an historical
analysis of the interrelationships of art, architecture, literature, music,
and philosophy from the early civilizations to the Renaissance, including
western and non-western cultures. Other courses include:
- Introduction to Cinema
- Contemporary Cinema
- Acting I & II
