Heat/Frost Insulation Apprenticeship
Overview
Heat and frost insulation work involves the installation of thermal insulation on pipes,
ducts, boilers, and vessels. Insulators install fire stopping on commercial buildings
including schools, hospitals and high rise buildings. Heat and frost insulation work
also includes work in the parabolic and tower solar industries.
Properly insulated buildings reduce energy consumption by keeping a
building properly heated. Insulation workers should be in good physical
shape and have some on-the-job or vocational
training. As the construction industry continues to grow, job opportunities
for installation professionals are projected to be excellent.
