Roofing Apprenticeship
Overview
Roofing involves the installation of various types of material for
protection in residential and commercial
structures.
The demand for roofers remains stable in any economy because most roofing
work consists of repair and replacement of older materials. Roofers often
need to combine formal training with on-the-job experience and be in great
physical shape, as the job is often physically demanding.
With experience, many roofers can become supervisors or estimators for a
roofing contractor, or become contractors themselves and work independently.
As many current roofers leave the field, the employment outlook looks good
for those newly entering the profession.
