Why is health insurance important and why is it even needed?
International students are required to purchase the medical insurance
plan through our district. The cost of health care in the U.S. is expensive.
You simply may not get the best treatment if you cannot prove that you have
the ability to pay the bills. Without insurance, you could face financial
ruin if you have a serious accident or illness, preventing you from
completing your studies in the U.S.
Health Insurance is important in the U.S. Unpaid medical bills could
result in damaged relationships between the community and international
students. Many care providers may not give service to someone without
insurance, or could require full payment at the time of service.
Insurance takes care of expenses and assures both the doctor and the
patient that bills will be paid.
Do you offer an orientation session for International students?
Yes. All new F1 students are required to attend. We will
review college policies, regulations, and resources. We will also
review immigration policies and regulations.
