It was a series of moments that movies are made of.

After battling Scottsdale CC for three games, the GateWay Geckos came up against No. 5 nationally ranked Paradise Valley CC for Region Championship--and the chance to go to the Junior College World Series for the first time in the history of the program. 

Filled with a series of diving catches, sliding safe into bases and quick strikeouts, the Geckos played hard and fast against the Pumas on Thursday and Friday, sweeping the team (15-9 and 3-1) to take the Region I Division II Championship and earning their much deserved trip to nationals.

The Division II Junior College World Series will be held in Enid, Oklahoma from May 28 to June 4. Games will be played at the David Allen Memorial Ballpark. Links to live audio and live stats will be available at www.davidallenballpark.com.
