Joni Grover, M.Ed.
Joni Grover has worked in an educational setting for thirty-five years primarily within the Student Affairs division of Mesa Community College (MCC) and most recently with the Seamless Student Experience (SSE) Initiative at the District office.
During her employment with MCC, she was the Director of Financial Aid for almost ten years working closely with students, staff, and faculty to ensure that Student Financial Services accomplished its mission to provide access for students to reach their educational goals. Additionally, she held positions at MCC as Senior Associate Dean and Dean of Student Affairs. Joni was responsible for a variety of Student Affairs departments at both campus locations – Red Mountain and Southern and Dobson. A sampling of the departments included the MCC Children’s Center, Career and Re-Entry Services, Student Life and Leadership, Disability Resources and Services, Veterans Services, Financial Aid and Enrollment Services including the One Stop environment at the MCC Red Mountain campus. She also was responsible for adjudication of student discipline issues at both campuses. Her most current position with the Seamless Student Experience initiative provided her with an opportunity to examine financial aid processes specifically in alignment with the Chancellor’s SSE non-negotiables.
As the Vice President of Student Affairs at GateWay, she has many of the same responsibilities as her experience at MCC, with the addition of the Title IX Coordinator, which accepts reports of misconduct, conducts fact-finding investigations, and implements administrative sanctions for misconduct committed by students and employees relating to the Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Policy.
Joni received her Master’s degree from Northern Arizona University in Educational Leadership in 1995.
