Brent Cooper is an automotive instructor at GateWay Community College's Central City campus. In this role, he coordinates, manages and leads a team providing introductory education in collision repair and refinishing. Brent is a qualified automotive collision repair technician of 30+ years and is also an I-CAR certified trainer. He has been teaching at GateWay for over five years and continues to work on staying up to date with industry and CTE teaching requirements. Prior to starting his career in collision repair, Brent spent nine years in the Air Force civil engineering as a heavy equipment operator and combat medic and separated as a technical sergeant. His role as a technical sergeant required him to supervise and train more than 100 airmen on a monthly basis. These skills, along with the time in industry, have led him to become a qualified teacher for our collision technician training program.
Brent hopes to one day bring auto collision training to the community for free. He believes that everyone should have the opportunity to learn regardless of their economic position or background.
