Stephanie Stearman is a proud second-generation Phoenician who graduated from Legal Arts of Arizona, a mom-and-pop court reporting school, in 1976. She started working as a reporter in 1977 in Municipal, Justice, Superior, and Federal courts in the Phoenix area as well as reporting depositions, arbitrations, and other legal proceedings. She started teaching Court Reporting at Phoenix College in 1991 and was named Director of Court Reporting when the program was transferred to GateWay Community College in 1993. She has an AAS Degree in Court Reporting from Phoenix College, a BA in Liberal Arts, and Masters in Education from Northern Arizona University. She has attended and presented at local and national conventions and workshops for court reporters. She is an active member of the NCRA and ACRA.
