The Freshmen Success class is designed to ensure incoming freshmen transition into Gateway Early College High School more successfully. Students are taught by experienced faculty and are centered on a variety of exploration topics.classes are relatively small in size, it’s a great way to establish relationships with faculty members at our school.
Freshman Success provides a setting for students to track their grades, practice self-reflection, communicate, and get to know the rest of their freshman classmates. Freshman success will focus on four key pillars – Study Skills, College Exploration, Career Exploration, and Self-Exploration. Freshman success is designed to help all students graduate on time and be prepared for college and career goals with both academic and social skills learned in the class. Students will begin to develop strategies to increase their study skills, time management, listening, questioning techniques, independent thinking, critical reading, effective written and oral communication, and continuous learning skills.
