Global Education Center

GateWay’s Global Education Center (GEC) provides assistance and support for students who were born outside of the United States, as well as students who are interested in intercultural activities or studying in another country.

Below are brief details on service areas. Click on each option to learn more.

International Education

Students from all over the world attend GateWay on the F-1, M-1, or J-1 visa programs. GateWay offers these students the I-20 Certificate of Eligibility.


English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL Non-Credit Classes)

Students who wish to improve their basic English skills can enroll in low-cost, non-credit ESOL classes.  

English as a Second Language (ESL Credit Classes)

GateWay also offers ESL classes for credit at higher levels.


Study Abroad

Each year GateWay sends students to Prague, Japan and Mexico.  Our students also participate in study abroad programs offered by other Maricopa County Community Colleges.  


Dream.US Scholarship

GateWay is proud to be designated as a Partner College for TheDream.US Scholarship. DREAMers are able to attend GateWay Community College using the scholarship funds provided by TheDream.US.


World Explorers Club

The World Explorers Club offers an educational and diverse environment comprised of students from the U.S. and around the world.  The club promotes diversity and supports new and returning international students.
