YouthBuild Phoenix is a program that is dedicated to young adults ages 16-24 with the focus of education, life skills and leadership. While you earn your GED and attain leadership training, you are assigned to construct housing for low-income families in their communities. This program occurs in a drug-free atmosphere where you work on your education, gain valuable job skills and work on community projects.
“The agencies we’ve partnered up with have helped us tremendously,” said Armando Fontes, YouthBuild’s Field Coordinator. “Individuals with barriers are able to obtain credentials, certificates and even opportunities to change their life.”
The partnerships affiliated include: GateWay Community College, Arizona Call-A-Teen Youth Resources, Inc. (ACYR), Habitat for Humanity, Tumbleweed, Labor’s Community Service Agency (LCSA), City of Phoenix and Workforce Development.
