GateWay Community College has partnered with Groom Curriculum to offer a hands-on Dog Grooming program designed to prepare students for the AKC Professional Groomer Credential (AKC-PGC)–the industry's most recognized certification.
In just 13 weeks, students will gain:
- Training in safe and humane animal handling
- A strong foundation in canine anatomy and breed identification
- Proficiency with grooming tools and sanitation best practices
- Hands-on experience with the 8 most common pet salon grooming styles
- Specialized techniques for grooming puppies and senior dogs
- Customer service and career-building skills
Program cost: $4,500—includes $1,000 worth of professional grooming tools provided to each student.
