GateWay understands that balancing education and life responsibilities can be challenging. To support your well-being, Student Life & Leadership, in partnership with St. Mary’s Food Bank, provides access to free food and essential items throughout the academic year.

Please note: Hours of operation may be affected by college holidays, summer schedules, and other closures.

St. Mary's Mobile Food Pantry

Food is generally distributed twice monthly on Tuesdays, through the fall and spring semesters. The mobile format accommodates a wide array of items–including some perishable goods like fresh produce. 

Interested in volunteering? Complete the required Volunteer Training before your first shift.

Gecko Grocery

The Gecko Grocery offers wholesome, non-perishable food, household essentials, and hygiene products to GateWay Community College students and staff. Each visitor can shop for groceries once (1) per week. Both perishable and non-perishable items are available. 

Fall 2025 & Spring 2026 | Hours of Operation

No appointments necessary; visit Student Life and Leadership on the following days:

Monday–Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Friday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

ELIGIBILITY:

• Must be a GWCC student who is actively enrolled in the current semester OR a current GWCC employee.
• Provide identification (Student IF or State Identification)

Our process for shopping in the Gecko Grocery is:

1. Check In Check-in with Student Life Front Desk staff and complete the Gecko Grocery Client Form.	2. Obtain Groceries Upon completion of Gecko Groceries Client Form.

Gecko Boutique

Also located inside the Student Life and Leadership Center is the Gecko Boutique. Here, you can find business and professional clothing to support you in your professional journey. Shopping is free and open to all GWC students and their families.

Our process for shopping at the Gecko Boutique is:

• Check-in with the Student Life Front Desk staff
• Upon check-in, staff will provide directions to access the clothing boutique
• Try on clothes and take home all of your favorites!
