Maricopa Skill Center Northwest Campus cosmetology students participated in United Way Project Connect at the Dysart Community Center in El Mirage on Jan. 14.

Five students participated in giving 55 haircuts to men, women and children from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

“The students absolutely loved it,” said cosmetology associate instructor Carolyn Cardwell. “It touched their heart to be able to reach out and help others in need.”

The cosmetology program is looking forward to participating in more events with United Way.

“Not only does it give the students practice it helps out the community and those in need,” Cardwell said.
