Tyler Clancy, a former GateWay baseball player, got named pitcher of the week this week by Conference USA.
Clancy was a crucial part of Louisiana Tech's first home victory on Friday during the first game of a doubleheader against UAPB. According to the Conference USA website, he pitched "seven complete innings of one-hit baseball in his second outing of the season for the bulldogs."
The Golden Lions were scoreless through seven innings while Clancy only walked one player and struck out five.
The Bulldogs defeated UAPB, 9-3, during the first game resulting in Clancy getting his first collegiate win for Louisiana Tech.
