Members of the medical field and experts in health sciences are needed now more than ever. If you’d like to join this esteemed community of healthcare providers, consider a future in Respiratory Care Therapy.

Our courses will provide you with the skills needed to assess patient services, provide treatment, perform diagnostic procedures, and instruct patients on what they need to know about respiratory and cardiovascular care. As a student of our program, you’ll gain real-world experience in work environments like the critical care, trauma and emergency departments; operating rooms; patient homes; physician offices; and out-patient clinics in preparation for employment.

Completion of our programs will grant you the ability to take both the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) Therapist Multiple-Choice (TMC) Examination, and the Clinical Simulation Examination (CSE) with confidence.

GateWay is the only Maricopa Community College that offers a suite of Beauty & Wellness programs -- aesthetics, cosmetology, massagenail technician and a specialized program for practitioners who wish to eventually become beauty and wellness instructors. These programs are considered clock hour programs, which are non-credit training programs that provide skills for quick entry into the workforce. All have specific year-round start dates, and you attend classes four days a week, Monday-Thursday.

You will learn your skills by practicing on each other and/or eventually serving actual clients, all with instructor supervision. Instructors supervise and receive feedback from clients to make sure you are providing adequate service. The school has a salon open to the public and holds clinics often.
