Description

Students with degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) majors are in great demand for a wide variety of often high-paying jobs in pure and applied research, business and industry, education, the military, and even law and policymaking. Many future medical professionals (dentists, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and veterinarians) establish their foundational knowledge by majoring in STEM. STEM fields cultivate inquiry and investigation, critical and creative thinking, innovation, and problem-solving skills that have enabled humanity to advance our understanding of the natural world, develop strategies to address critical issues, and enhance our quality of life. The more we learn, however, the more we realize there is still much to be discovered—STEM students are needed to address a wide array of challenges that we still face.

There is more to STEM than you might think. What you may have studied in high school was really just the “tip of the iceberg.”

If discovering how nature works and applying that knowledge to engineer solutions to problems and create new technologies to advance humanity appeals to you, your path to a rewarding career in one of the STEM fields starts at Maricopa Community Colleges.
