What sport did you play at GateWay?
I played soccer.
What is your major, and where is your hometown?
My major is psychology, and I am from Phoenix, Arizona.
What has been your favorite memory competing at GateWay Community College?
My favorite memory was competing with my teammates and creating strong bonds with them. The games, practices, and team moments made my experience unforgettable.
How has being a student-athlete shaped your overall college experience?
Being a student-athlete has shaped me into a more disciplined and responsible person. It taught me how to balance work, school, and soccer while staying focused on my goals.
What was the biggest lesson you learned from balancing your sport and your academics?
The biggest lesson I learned is the importance of time management. Balancing work, school, and soccer taught me how to stay organized, manage my priorities, and stay committed even when things get challenging.
Is there a coach, teammate, or professor at GateWay who made a big impact on your journey?
My coaches made a huge impact on my journey. Since day one, they have always been there to guide me, support me, and push me to become better both on and off the field.
How do you feel GateWay has prepared you for your next chapter?
GateWay has prepared me by helping me grow academically, athletically, and personally. It gave me the confidence and skills I need to succeed in my next chapter while continuing to balance work, school, and soccer.
What are your plans after you graduate?
After graduating, I plan to attend Ottawa University, earn my bachelor’s degree in psychology, and then apply to physician assistant school.
If you could give one piece of advice to a future student-athlete, what would it be?
My advice would be to stay disciplined, believe in yourself, and learn how to balance work, school, and your sport. Stay focused on your goals and never give up, even when things get hard.
