Gecko Gear Up New Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration

Students New to College and Ready to Enroll

In-person sessions will be hosted at our Washington Campus. Expect to find all college-related information and confirmations in your Maricopa student email account.

Emails and text messaging with a link will be sent out to all students to confirm times and dates. Please continue to register here.

Participating in Gecko Gear Up New Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (GGU NSOAR) is one of the first steps to becoming an official GateWay Gecko. GGU NSOAR is a series of experiences that help place you on the path to navigating college successfully and assist in getting you oriented to your new college environment.

Watch the Maricopa Pipeline Overview video and take the Pipeline AZ assessment to explore your interests and start developing your educational and career pathway.

After you have completed your application and placement tests, you are ready for a GGU NSOAR session. GGU NSOAR will help you learn about the tools designed to help you discover your academic and career path, practice navigating the Student Center, receive advising, and even enroll in classes. You will also learn about future Financial Aid workshops, payment plan options and other tips.

To summarize, GGU NSOAR allows you to:

  • Get an introduction to GateWay's First Year Experience (FYE) programming for all new students
  • Review helpful resources for choosing a plan of study and a career
  • Receive an introduction to the fundamentals of paying for college
  • Learn about the importance of academic advisement in your college journey
  • Learn how to navigate your Student Center to enroll in classes
  • You will also learn about our Fields of Interest
