Although many schools offer seemingly similar degree and certification options, not all schools are accredited. In many instances, accreditation of the degree or program you complete may be required in order to become certified to work in the field.
Collision Repair/Auto Body is considered a non-credit, clock hour program, which is a training program that provides skills for quick entry into the workforce. It has specific year-round start dates, and you attend classes four days a week, Monday-Thursday. You will be required to pass the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair certification exam before graduation. I-CAR is an international organization dedicated to the training in collision repair. The certification helps you be more marketable when applying for jobs. You complete a total of 14 tests to get certified. All tests are taken online and at the student's convenience.
