NISSAN Technician Training Academy (NTTA)

The NISSAN Technician Training Academy (NTTA) is a two-year automotive program designed to upgrade the technical competency and professional level of incoming dealership technicians.

The curriculum is designed by NISSAN and GateWay, leading to an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Service Technology. The program involves:

  • Attending classroom lectures and labs on NISSAN products
  • Working at a NISSAN dealership for approximately 32-44 weeks
  • Spending approximately 43 weeks in classroom training
  • Rotating eight weeks of class with eight weeks of paid work at a NISSAN dealership

Program requirements include students partnering with a sponsored NISSAN dealer. The main responsibility of the dealership is to provide training related employment for the student during the cooperative work periods. Students receive assistance in location and identification of participating NISSAN dealerships.

Graduating NTTA students hired full-time by a NISSAN or INFINITI dealership are eligible for a monthly tuition reimbursement incentive (up to $6,000) over the course of 2 years of dealership employment. For those without tuition debt, reimbursement for the cost of tools may be available.

Accreditation

Accreditation is a process used to measure and certify the credibility and quality of services offered by an organization.

The Automotive Technology program is designed to prepare students for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in all areas. Our programs are accredited by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence - Education Foundation.

GateWay is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Why should you choose an accredited school?

Although many schools offer seemingly similar degree and certification options, not all schools are accredited. In many instances, accreditation of the degree or program you complete may be required in order to become certified to work in the field.
