Ultrasound and Cardiac Care Conferences to Focus on Children’s Cardiac Care, Abdominal Scans and More

Phoenix, Ariz — GateWay Community College, a leader in healthcare education in Arizona, will be hosting a number of continuing education events in the Ultrasound and Cardiac Care fields in April.  Both events will take place at the main GateWay Community College campus located on 108 N. 40th Street, Phoenix AZ. 

The Ultrasound Lecture Series will take place on April 27, from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. 
The event will focus on:
  • Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound in Diagnostic Imaging
  • The Role of Sonography in Inflammatory Bowel Disease
  • RLQ Pain: Not Always Acute Appendicitis
  • Transcranial Doppler
  • Breast Ultrasound, Case Studies
  • Abdominal Doppler

The 15th Annual Cardiac Care Conference will take place on April 30, from 6:45 a.m. – 4 p.m. The event will focus on the following objectives:
  • Discuss congenital heart disease in children, current trends, interventions and follow-up into adulthood. 
  • Explain the current research and use of aquapheresis therapy with heart patients.
  • Recognize and understand how the transitional care model for cardiac patients reduces costs, improves outcomes, and provides comprehensive discharge planning from hospital to home.
  • Identify the risks and benefits of heart disease patients with a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD). 
  • Analyze mock code simulation data, clinical implications on practice, and adherence to American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.
  • Critique appropriate interventions for patients with peripheral vascular disease.
  • Determine and assess nutritional impact on heart health and wellness.
Cost is $77.50 per person, including registration for any Arizona/Maricopa County resident.
