Middle-school female youth came to GateWay to learn about different STEM careers, Nov. 3. Through a partnership with Intel, Balsz and Wilson Elementary Schools, and several Maricopa Community Colleges, we are working to increase the number of under-represented female students going to college by inspiring them to pursue a technology, engineering and/or computer science education that will lead to a career in a technical field. This pre-college event provided hands-on workshops, a town hall with women working in the tech industry and a campus tour.
