The program will focus on helping participants develop and implement crucial components of their business operations, financial reporting, marketing, human resources, and customer relations.

The workshop series aims to support current and aspiring business owners in building or improving their operational infrastructure. The program will focus on helping participants develop and implement crucial components of their business operations, financial reporting, marketing, human resources, and customer relations. The series comprises six courses that lead to a Certificate of Completion in Small Business Management.

  • SBS200: Small Business Operations | Sept. 3 - 13 | Credits: 2
  • SBS230: Financial & Tax Management for Small Business | Sept. 16 - 27 | Credits: 2
  • SBS220: Internet Marketing for Small Business | Sept. 30 - Oct. 11 | Credits: 2
  • MGT253: Owning & Operating a Small Business | Oct. 14 - Dec. 12 | Credits: 3
    • *MGT253: Owning & Operating a Small Business is a completely online course. Participants will meet with the instructor on a scheduled individual basis.
  • SBS214: Small Business Customer Relations | Oct. 21 - Nov. 1 | Credits: 1
  • SBS213: Hiring & Managing Employees | Nov. 4 - 15 | Credits: 1

Each session will have a virtual meeting each week on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. With the exception of MGT253- Owning & Operating a Small Business, this is a completely online course. Participants will meet with the instructor on a scheduled individual basis.

Frequently Asked Questions

For all residency statuses, the tuition rates listed below apply to each credit hour plus a $15 registration fee per semester.

Maricopa County Resident: All Maricopa County residents and other Arizona counties, not including Apache and Greenlee, are eligible due to reciprocal agreements with each county, $97 per credit hour. The total cost for all courses is approximately $1,082.00 USD.

Out-of-State Residing in Arizona: Out-of-state residents residing in Arizona who do not qualify for in-state residency, $372 per credit hour. The total cost for all courses is approximately $4,107.00 USD.

Participants will only be required to attend the virtual meetings on the following dates, which are all on Wednesdays, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. or otherwise indicated.

  • SBS230: Financial & Tax Management for Small Business - Sept. 18 & 25
  • SBS220: Internet Marketing for Small Business - Oct. 2 & 9
  • MGT253: Owning and Operating a Small Business 
    • Online - Virtual Meetings on a needed/scheduled basis

No professional license is required to participate.

Yes! This workshop series translates into a college certificate in Small Business Management Level I, provided the participant completes the required business development activities. The workshop activities are designed to be completed over two weeks including virtual meetings and online course work.
