Custom Cars, Culture, and Community

The GateWay Community College Car Show, hosted by The Center for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, aims to educate GateWay and Phoenix communities about the historical, social, and cultural influences of customization culture and automotive repair in Phoenix and the Southwest region.

Student and community participants will have the opportunity to learn about Hispanic/Latine influences on car culture through a temporary panel exhibit; explore Chicano-influenced art through interactive art activities; access preventative health services and information hosted by campus and community partner organizations; and enjoy a showcase of community and alumni/employee custom cars, and more:

This event is free and open to the public, making it the perfect Saturday for the whole family. Whether you're a car culture enthusiast or just looking for a fun day out, you won't want to miss this. We will have food, music, and a fantastic crowd of people passionate about cars and/or education to make the day even more enjoyable. Vehicle owners are encouraged to register their lowriders, classics, customs, and bikes in order to showcase their pride and joy. Come be part of a thrilling celebration of automotive passion and creativity!
