The Certificate of Competency (CCT) in Phlebotomy for Healthcare Professionals is a fast-paced program tailored for individuals who either possess or are in the process of completing health professions training in various fields including but not limited to nursing, medical assisting, emergency medical technology (EMT), and phlebotomists. This program is tailored to those wanting to re-enter the workforce by obtaining recertification or upskilling and adding an additional certification.

This is a Fast Track Certificate, which can be completed in two semesters or less.

This program is not eligible for Title IV Federal Financial Aid.

Students will be required to have a minimum of 50 successful live draws to sit for the national certification examination. The expense of the examination is the student`s responsibility.

Students must meet all required program competencies in order to receive a passing grade. This program is a P (pass) or Z (no pass) graded program.

  • Perform proper technique on specialized collection procedures. (PLC211)
  • Describe the collection of non-blood specimens. (PLC211)
  • Demonstrate various specialized methods in specimen handling, referencing, storing, and transporting laboratory specimens. (PLC211)
