GateWay Community College will host a DREAM Job Fair 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Oct. 9 in the Integrated Education Building. The fair is held in conjunction with Disability & Rehabilitation Employment Awareness Month to support individuals with disabilities who are seeking long-term employment.
The annual fair will bring 40 companies that have immediate hiring needs to GateWay. There will be employers from the healthcare, education, retail, banking, communication and technology industries.
GateWay has partnered with several community agencies to offer the job fair. Agency partners include Department of Economic Security, Goodwill of Central Arizona, NETPA, Focus Employment Services, Mercy Maricopa Integrated Care, Wedco RSA and Beacon Group.
The DREAM Job Fair’s focus is on job seekers with disabilities, but everyone is welcome to attend the fair.
Parking for the fair is available in the student lots and in the Park & Swap lot on the southwest corner of Washington and 40 Streets. GateWay is also a stop on the Metro Light Rail.
A Pre-Job Fair event will be held 9-11 a.m. on Sept. 25 at GateWay to prepare job seekers for the fair. During the event, participates will receive guidance on appropriate job fair attire, how to approach a recruiter and follow up tips. Also, mock interviews will be available as well as Arizona Professional Resume Writers will be available to review resumes. Vouchers for free haircuts and clothing will be available while supplies last.
Participants in the Pre-Job Fair event will also receive a ticket to enter the DREAM Job Fair a half-hour before the general public.
The Pre-Job Fair event will be held in the Integrated Education Building.
